Live/Update Article - September 13, 2026
Gold prices across the Gulf remain at high levels on Sunday, with markets watching a combination of geopolitical tensions, rising oil prices, inflation concerns and expectations for the next US Federal Reserve interest-rate decision.
The latest gold rates show that prices have eased from some of the higher levels recorded earlier in September, although gold remains significantly more expensive than it was during previous periods.
For buyers across the Gulf, the next move in international gold prices could determine whether local rates continue to fall or return toward recent highs.
Gold Price Today in the UAE
The latest UAE gold rates put 24K gold at AED 524 per gram.
The current price of 22K gold is AED 485.25 per gram, while 21K stands at AED 465.25 and 18K at AED 398.75.
The UAE market has experienced noticeable volatility this month. The 24K price was AED 542 per gram on September 3 before falling to the current AED 524 level.
That means buyers in Dubai and elsewhere in the UAE are currently seeing prices below the early-September peak, although the market remains sensitive to international movements.
Saudi Gold Price Today
In Saudi Arabia, the latest 24K gold price is SAR 540 per gram.
The price of 22K gold is SAR 493 per gram, while 21K is SAR 471 and 18K is SAR 403.
Saudi gold prices have also moved lower during September. On September 9, 24K gold was trading at SAR 549 per gram, compared with SAR 540 today.
The decline means that Saudi buyers are currently paying less than they were earlier this month, although the market remains exposed to any major move in international bullion prices.
Qatar Gold Price Today
In Qatar, the latest 24K gold price stands at QAR 524 per gram.
The current 22K rate is QAR 483 per gram, while 21K gold is QAR 458 and 18K is QAR 395.50.
Qatar's 24K price has fallen from QAR 532 per gram on September 9 to the current QAR 524, showing that the recent correction has also reached the Qatari market.
Kuwait Gold Price Today
Kuwait's latest listed rate puts 24K gold at around KWD 43.33 per gram.
The 22K rate is approximately KWD 39.82 per gram, while 21K stands at KWD 37.91 and 18K at KWD 32.57.
Kuwait has recorded one of the clearer declines during September. The 24K price was KWD 44.80 per gram on September 3, compared with KWD 43.33 currently.
Bahrain Gold Price Today
In Bahrain, the latest 24K gold price is BHD 53.30 per gram.
The current 22K rate is BHD 49.80, while 21K stands at BHD 47.50 and 18K at BHD 40.30.
The Bahrain market has also moved down from the levels seen earlier in the month. On September 9, 24K gold was BHD 54.20 per gram before falling to the current level.
Oman Gold Price Today
Oman is also seeing lower gold prices compared with the beginning of September.
The latest 24K gold rate is OMR 55.65 per gram.
The current 22K price is OMR 52.20, while 21K stands at OMR 47.70 and 18K at OMR 41.50.
The 24K rate was OMR 56.50 on September 9, meaning the current price is OMR 0.85 lower per gram.
Why Are Gold Prices Falling in the Gulf?
The recent decline in Gulf gold prices is mainly linked to developments in international markets.
Gold prices are being pulled in two different directions.
On one side, geopolitical uncertainty and risks to energy supplies are supporting demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
On the other side, higher oil prices are increasing concerns about inflation. That can strengthen expectations that the US Federal Reserve will keep interest rates higher for longer, putting pressure on gold.
Reuters reported that Brent crude recently climbed above $100 per barrel as tensions in the Gulf increased. At the same time, US inflation data strengthened expectations for another Federal Reserve rate increase.
Oil Prices Are Becoming a Major Factor for Gold
The relationship between oil and gold has become particularly important for Gulf markets.
Higher oil prices can increase inflation because energy and transportation costs rise.
That creates a difficult situation for gold.
Geopolitical tensions can increase demand for gold because investors want protection from uncertainty. But if higher oil prices lead markets to expect higher US interest rates, gold can come under pressure because it does not pay interest.
This explains why gold has been volatile rather than simply moving higher despite continued geopolitical risks. Reuters reported that gold recovered around 0.8% on Friday to approximately $4,350 an ounce after a sharp decline the previous day.
Why Is Gold Still Expensive?
Even after the recent correction, gold remains at historically high levels.
The market continues to face significant geopolitical and economic uncertainty, while investors are closely monitoring energy markets and US monetary policy.
Recent attacks affecting oil infrastructure and shipping routes have added another layer of uncertainty to the global energy market. Reuters reported on September 13 that disruptions involving a major Saudi pipeline could potentially affect a significant amount of global oil supply if the shutdown continues.
That situation could keep both oil and gold markets volatile during the coming days.
What Does This Mean for Gold Buyers in the Gulf?
For consumers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, the recent decline could offer some relief compared with the higher prices seen earlier this month.
However, buyers should not assume that gold will continue falling.
A new escalation in regional tensions could push safe-haven demand higher. At the same time, another increase in oil prices could strengthen inflation concerns and change expectations for US interest rates.
For jewellery buyers, the final price paid at a shop can also be higher than the published gold rate because of making charges, design costs and retailer margins.
Is This a Good Time to Buy Gold?
There is no guaranteed answer to whether gold will be cheaper tomorrow or next week.
For buyers who need jewellery for an upcoming occasion, the current correction may be more attractive than purchasing during the recent highs.
Investors, however, may prefer to monitor the international gold price, US interest-rate expectations, the dollar and oil prices before making a larger purchase.
The key issue is whether the current decline is simply a temporary correction or the beginning of a deeper move lower.
What Could Happen to Gold Prices Next?
The Gulf gold market could remain volatile during the coming week.
If geopolitical tensions intensify and investors increase their demand for safe-haven assets, international gold prices could move higher again.
But if inflation remains strong and markets continue to price in higher US interest rates, gold could face additional pressure.
Oil prices will also be important.
A sustained period of crude prices above $100 could increase inflation concerns and complicate the outlook for both gold and interest rates.
Gulf Gold Price Outlook
Gold prices across the six GCC markets are currently showing signs of a correction after reaching higher levels earlier in September.
The latest rates put 24K gold at AED 524 per gram in the UAE, SAR 540 in Saudi Arabia, QAR 524 in Qatar, KWD 43.33 in Kuwait, BHD 53.30 in Bahrain and OMR 55.65 in Oman.
For Gulf consumers, the most important factors to watch now are international gold prices, oil prices, US inflation, Federal Reserve policy and developments across the Middle East.
The direction of those markets will determine whether gold prices in the Gulf continue their recent decline or begin another move toward their September highs.
This article will be updated as new gold prices and major market developments emerge. Gold prices can change during the day, and jewellery-shop prices may differ because of making charges and other costs.
